Saved Comb

As we were cleaning the hive I cut off this come and immediately regretted doing so remembering that the bees could save time building comb if there was already come to begin with.

There was a larger comb on a bar that we left. It was about half the area of a full comb.

1st Package Ordered

I put in an order at Ruhl Bee Supply for a 3 pound package of bees and a New World Carniolan queen for $91. Now we are in for it.

Journal

I started a beekeeping journal when I took a beekeeping class  in 2011 and I have diligently recorded everything since from purchased equipment to tips from other beekeepers and readings, and I plan to continue with daily recordings of the hive this year.
